The residential areas are lovely - gorgeous homes, but the high streets are meh.
Ardmore is ok, but Bryn Mawr high street charming? Not so much. CHARMING homes, but not the high street.
It's just my opinion - but I don't think it's a patch on Chestnut Hill (although the Bryn Mawr restaurants are better).

Obviously you disagree and that's ok - I just had high expectations having heard how wonderful it was, and I DO like it, it's just not what I was expecting.
