no doubt, the state should stop enforcing arbitrary things like closing times and start enforcing the things it should be doing, like shutting nuisance places.

Agreed...major cities don't just shut down early
I could never figure out why the bars in phila don't stay open longer.
There are after hours places in the burbs

There's another angle to this. So called 'Private Clubs' in center city can stay open past 2AM. At least they could the last time I was tuned into the CC bar and nightlife scene.

What that means is if you're a determined night owl, you'll either join one of those clubs, or have friends who are members.
