Places I used to like ... but not anymore:

McCormick & Schmick - on South Broad just across the street from City Hall and the Ritz Carlton. Once great for fish and seafood in an opulent Art Deco setting, I have found the place to be rather mediocre of late.

Oregon Diner - the Montrose Diner in South Philly is better and the Penrose Diner closer to the sports stadiums is much better.

Rembrandt's - years ago this was one of my favorites. Now it's just another youthful hip brew pub with casual fare. Near Eastern State Penitentiary off Fairmount. London Grill nearby is a better choice.

Joe's is a pizza restaurant! Really yummy.
Devon for crab cakes, and Rouge for burgers are also great!

Dmitris in Fitler Square is our number 1 - we go there all the time.

Bistro Romano for the Loster special on Tuesdays. Best deal ever & YUM!

Marathon On The Square for a casual meal - going tonight!

Union Trust for excellent steak (also like Mortons).

Sahara Grill at Broad & Walnut. Simple & inexpensive but delish!

Jones/ Continental or DiBruno's for brunch.

Parc or Devon for people watching on the Square.

Sang Kee Duck House stand in Reading Terminal Market.

Pho 75 on Washington Street for super cheap & delicious.

Raw for sushi

XIX for the most phenomenal brunch ever!

I like to eat at Ikea. The food isn't so good so I bring my own.... usually from Checkers.

l'angolo is really special. Lee How Fouk has the best Chinese food on the planet. We have recently found an Indonesian place and a Mexican taqueria place in S Philly that are off the charts - amazing gourmet food at low low prices. We're not revealing the names at this stage...but can anyone guess?
