I second the reading terminal market recomendation, a city version of lancaster central market so they should be right at home there. I believe the free ticket to center city dates to the days when through trains stop calling at broad st station and is a legacy. anyway, the flower show is attached to the old reading terminal, which market east is located under.

The smell and sight of acres of paradise gives me goosebumps.
Hint: go early or go late; the crowds in midday are intense, but the last two hours of the day when the tour bus people are gone, are relaxed and magical.
