So my friend and I are going to the phillies game tomorrow and we are trying to figure out the parking. We both work in center city and take patco in from south NJ.
We want to be able to drive home from the phillies game. What makes the most sense?
1) To pay to park in the city for work and then after work drive to the game, and pay to park there?
2) Or is there a place we can park by the stadium in the morning, and then take a train to the city for work, and then take the train back to the stadium for game time?

Any suggestions? Trying to figure out the best option. We definitely want to be able to drive home from the game, and not take public transportation back.

Thanks!

Wouldn't it be easier to park in a Center City garage, take the subway to the game and back to CC, and drive home from there? It would certainly be cheaper than paying to park in CC and then again at the stadium, and a lot less of a morning logistical hassle.

I would reccommend this one, personally. I vaguely recall stadium traffic being a nightmare as everyone rushes out to broad street at the same time- instant gridlock. Taking the subway would have gotten me where i needed to go a LOT faster.

Of course, this was a couple of years back when Phillies attendance was pushing 40K. Who knows what it's like now with attendance in the toilet at 20K.

For that matter, parking is much cheaper in Fern Rock. If there is secure parking there (I haven't been for a long time), I would park there, ride the subway to work, go to the game, and then take the express back to FR and home.

I know it may be cheaper but you want OP to drive all the way up there to park and then take train to work in CC? OP lives in SJ...

Parking in CC and taking public transportation to the game is probably the best route without spending about $40 for parking in CC and at the ball park. What you need to watch out for the total time you park in CC. Over certain hours at some of the parking garage may make it expensive. Get in for early bird parking and drive out to ball park early. If you work out the cost of public trans and at least 1 parking, you may not save that much by simply parking at both places with a single vehicle for two people.

Taking the subway is still the smarter choice even with the smaller attendance. The OP should park in CC, preferably as close as possible to a subway station, then take the subway southbound.

The area around the ballpark is much busier than it was a couple of years ago, in any case, because of Xfinity Live right across Pattison Ave.

Working in CC what you say would certainly be the best. Now for those that come from out of the city that want to avoid the parking mess (more so then the cost) many park somewhere off Broad close to Snyder or Tasker and use the subway. Usually plenty of parking near Southern High in the evening hours.
