Hi everyone,

I'm an undergrad writing a research paper on Manayunk and I'm trying to get a feel for what people's perceptions/feelings are about Manayunk. If anyone would be willing to write a comment about Manayunk (literally anything: positive/negative of gentrification, current issues facing the neighborhood, what the future holds, etc.) I would really appreciate it.

If you are an actual resident of Manayunk I would love to hear from you as well, perhaps via email or DM if possible.

Thank you!

Things will get better over that way now that they've knocked down the Queen Lane towers.

I really only see good things for the area.

When you say "manayunk" do you mean just 19127 or a broader area?

I think manayunk proper is going to change a bit over the next decade. A lot of people in their 20s bought houses there 5-10 years ago and as they age there's going to be less tolerance for the partying that Manayunk is known for. I think Main St. is going to evolve in much the same way that South St. has with more sophisticated restaurants, more upscale bars and retailers, etc.

The train to Pottstown (if some version of it ever gets built) and the extension of the Route 100 to KOP has the potential to transform the whole area from Norristown to East Falls in a big and positive way.

I'm from the Main Line (not too far from the Green Lane bridge actually), and I went to Manayunk fairly frequently growing up. It's been a "hot spot" since at least the late 90s.
