Hi Everyone-

My family and I are going to be moving into Pennsylvania within the next 30 days or so and were looking for some advise. Both of our employers are within the King of Prussia and West Chester area. We are looking to lease ($1500 - $1750) a single family home preferably but townhouses are not completely out of the question. We are looking for safe neighborhoods with nice a downtown or town center. I appreciate any and all feedback. Thank you in advance!

Wayne is nearby, but a single home for rent is going to be wayyy more than that. Do you have children?

If good schools are must, then you will be more limited to more expensive suburbs.

Yeah,a single family will be more expensive than their price range. Maybe somewhere in Chesterbrook would work if they were willing to look at townhomes. It's in the T/E school district (3rd best in state) and has a shopping center. Downtown Wayne is also fairly close by.

Unfortunately, $1800 is my max... I have a home in Connecticut which I'm keeping and having to eat the mortgage. No children at the moment. Besides Wayne, are there any other towns that you might rank. Once again, I greatly appreciate your thoughts!

There are good options within King of Prussia and West Chester themselves, though I assume you'd prefer to live somewhere approximately halfway between your respective commutes. The problem is that most suitable options within your price range will be immediately in these respective areas. In addition to being more expensive, there's simply far fewer homes to choose from in the places between.

I second Chesterbrook if you wouldn't mind a townhome. It's definitely biased toward the King of Prussia side, but it's still more convenient to West Chester than KOP itself.
