You'll find plenty of areas with a good amount of land for you and your animals. If looking in the city limits I would suggest Chestnut Hill and West Mt. Airy in Northwest Philadelphia. Outside of the city limits I would suggest places in Bucks County or Montgomery County... what is your price range?

Here is an example of the vast array of housing types in the Northwest section of the city... plus the massive Wissihickon park is right there which also connects to the massive Fairmount Park.

The first house is something similar to what you are looking for. Telling me your price range will give me a better idea of what you want however.

The first house is very much what I am looking for (the Hobbitt house)!! However, my price range is $265,000 -$310,000. Being near a park is important, too. I thank you so much for your help

Well this is the perfect time to buy a house. It is a buyers market right now thanks to the economy.

Here are a bunch of listings for West Mt Airy in Northwest Philadelphia. You can put your price range in to narrow the search but as you can see some of the house prices can get pretty high. This is a desirable area of the city.

If you don't find anything you like here I'll suggest some areas in the suburbs where you should look where you will still have access to the city and amenities, etc.

Collingswood Nj is a very nice town and very diverse. You Will find many liberals and animal lovers there. It's also only about 10 minutes from Philly. You would have to pay a daily bridge toll though.

It was deleted. The person said he didn't think the neighborhood was very animal friendly and that was his reason for you to not live in Roxborough.

I don't think this is a true statement however. There are a few farms with horses on them in Roxborough.
