Nostalgic, for about six months in the 1960s I used to ride that trolley from 69th St to Media daily. I haven't been back there for over 20 years. Media actually looks better than it did

Yeah, these were good photos. I admit they got me browsing Media real estate for a minute there this morning!

The 101 and 102 are the last interurban streetcars left in the country if I'm not mistaken, and probably the last anywhere for that matter. Other cities have similar suburban LRT, but not from the classic streetcar period.

These are some great pictures. I really love Media. In some ways, seeing Media the way it is now reminds me of what places like Darby's Main Street could look like one day if it's ever revitalized, or even Chester. Darby's Main Street has architecture that's very similar to Media's State Street, though the rest of it is a lot more working class urban.

My beloved hometown.

I moved away quite some time ago and have regretted it ever since. Truly a beautiful town, full of wonderful people, and it was the perfect place to grow up.

For those thinking about moving, the actual town of Media is very small but when most people say Media, they are really referring to the entire 19063 zip code. There are many parts of Upper Providence and Nether Providence that aren't technically in Media proper but are certainly within walking distance.
