Any thoughts on buying over the river in NJ. Places like Palmyra, Riverton, Delanco seem to offer the sort of house that we are looking for. We have however only looked at these online… Are these places safe? What are the pros and cons with living in NJ (one of us working in Center City and the other Conshohocken)?

Those areas is nice and safe.. Out of the three, Riverton is by FAR the best area. (Stay away from Riverside.) You are right on th ewater and the home stock is wonderful The town of Riverton has some excellent events too. Bike races, 4th of July events etc..b Taxes are fair for the beautiful homes. You will love it there. Riverton is close to CC too. Jump on 90 and over the Betsy Ross and your in CC in 15 minutes.. Here are some pictures of the home there.

Riverton is cool. My friend rail commutes from there to CC using the Riverline + PATCO.

It's nice there and the commute to CC is easy enough . . . commuting to Conshy from there, though? That's rough.

You may also want to look at this forum specifically geared towards Philadelphia's New Jersey suburbs. I agree with the last member that a commute from NJ to Conshohocken would not be much fun.
