Hey guys, I am a decently well established acoustic musician in the Atlanta area and will be relocating to Bensalem for work in the next 2 months..I play solo/duo mostly restaurants/bars right now..low key, cover gigs...everything from the 60's through today...some originals also...

I have plenty of places to play around here and currently have a rotation of 5-6 places I play weekly...My question is, what kind of scene does Philly have for musicians like me? Not just in the city, but suburbs as well..Are there plenty of places that host that kind of music? I'm not looking for major music venues, just restaurants/bars/patios that will have acoustic musicians playing in the corner kind of thing...thoughts?

right but those are larger venues for bigger artists and people looking to "breakout"..I was looking to get an opinion on restaurants/bars that do live music, specifically acoustic solos and duos..it's a much smaller community I was hoping to get insight on..

World Cafe Live in University City might be good for that.

There are tons of places like this. Tin Angel, World Cafe, Grape St., Milk Boy (in Ardmore) are places that come to mind right now that are more music focused but there are TONS of restaurants/bars that probably have this type of stuff going on too. Check out places in University City, Fishtown, and Mt. Airy and I'm sure you'll find gigs.

The Mermaid Inn in Chestnut Hill/Mt Airy has live music just about every night. It's just a bar but could be a good place to meet other local artists.

thats what im looking for...just local bars/restaurants that have live music to entertain their guests as background music...no big aspirations here...just making a little cash on the side and I get to do what I love...appreciate it

There are a ton of them in and outside of the city. It'd take too long to type out a complete list.
