You just seem to hate "yuppies" and wherever they choose to live. Is that it? I seem to remember you saying that any good neighborhood was not "real" in a thread awhile ago too. Calling people who choose to live downtown and happen to be young professionals "low and pretentious" is, well, low and pretentious.

As for budget, I have a mortgage with a $1200 payment/mo. now on a 15 year mortgage (I am on year 4). I could swing that plus more, and even more without a car expense. This is assuming that I could find a job in Philadelphia in accounting/finance that pays as much as I make here in Kansas City (about $80k)

Yes there are many. While Philly is not a pnacea, no place is but there seems to be an agenda with an individual poster.

Suggest you check it out first hand if you have the chance. The other places also offer this (some with a more expensive price tag)

Here is a somewhat related article on Center City

$1200 a month is definitely doable for Center City or surrounding neighborhoods. A quick google search returned results showing that some accounting/finance jobs in Center City will pay $90k.

In fact, here is one I found
Financial Reporting Controller Job in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania US

I've found that jobs that don't list salaries will often pay more, like such

My friends dad is a financial advisor and makes $120k a year

You should not have a hard time finding a job in your field in Philadelphia since competition is not tough in Philly for accounting/finance.

You should have no problem finding a job with your credentials. I have a CPA license and a master's degree. There are currently jobs available in the city and the 'burbs. Though I wouldn't call this a job seeker's market, there are jobs out there going unfilled, both in public and in industry.
