First of all, I apologize if I am calling Glen Mills by the wrong name.....is it suppose to be Garnet Valley?? We are thinking about moving to PA and my husband's work would be in Bryn Mawr, but we weren't sure how far and how difficult that drive would be. We need to find somewhere to live that has great public schools and is a safe place to raise our kiddos, but within a 30 minute drive to his work. We would prefer an area that has new/newer homes with our max budget being $600,000.

Thank You!

Mod note - Changed title to reference Garnet Valley.

Glen Mills to Bryn Mawr is not a bad commute at all, especially once you are familiar with some back roads. You may be able to find something closer in Tredyffrin Township,Devon,Malvern, Newtown Township(Delaware County),Edgmont,Middletown Township,Willistown,Westtown Township.

Good luck.

Not a horrible commute, but the two main roads you will be on, Route 1 and the Blue Route (Rt. 476), will get backed up. You'll want to check out alternative back roads and perhaps work at hours slightly off the main commuting hours if possible.

Thank you for your help, too! Can you tell me what the difference is between Glen Mills and Garnet Valley?

I'm also wondering about the crime within that area.

The difference between Glen Mills and GV is pretty much just in name. Both areas look the same. Don't get me wrong, we loved living in Garnet Valley, but it's pretty much just a bunch of houses, a library, schools, a few churches and a handful of stores and a great farmers market. But there is no center of town or a community center. You'll make your friends in your neighborhood or at one of the above mentioned places. Crime is negligible.
