Looking for places, especially when you moving to a new area, is very hard.

Modern apps now let you "draw" on a map where you would like to search for rentals.

My wife an I are looking for 2 bed/2bath with updated fixings (w/d, hardwood, nice kitchen, etc) and some kind of parking in a safe area. Plus, if your going to shoot for the moon, also have Verizon FIOS.

I've attached a picture of my current rental "search area" based on commentary on this forum. Areas like NoLib, Fishtown, down though center city, stopping at south street, the. Curving up to hit the NW parts.

Are We looking in the right places?

I've used Zillow for this example but there are lots of apps.

Don't be scared away from South Philadelphia. Plenty of good areas in South Philadelphia. Also, you could search in University City in West Philadelphia and Northeast Philadelphia.

All good places to live.

Yeah that seems like a good search. I would also add the Spruce Hill and Clark Park neighborhoods into your search in West Philadelphia. Fantastic areas. Down around like 43rd and Pine. Check that out.
