You beat me haha.

BTW the article does not say whether it will be Target Express or what
But per the description, it will be Target Express.

Express. The space is only 19,000 sqft. The flagship Walgreens and other Target Express are both around 22k sqft for a size comparison.

Either way the total retail square footage for the Chestnut development is 90k which is still smaller than your average full size Target.

Lets hope for groceries and maybe a home ware store to join Target Express.

And btw, the shade store by American Eagle slated to open today.
New York window treatment retailer opening in Philadelphia

And for those, who are not following, it looks like that boarded empty retail space beside Boyds parking lot will become Sweet Green; that chain similar to SaladWorks.
That's what the stickers on the panel now saying.
IN my limited experience, the exterior of the chains always look chic / minimalist so it makes a great additional eye feast to the street.
Now if they will actually fix the pedestrian walkways. Some of them are so neglected.

I just wish the Sweet Green space wasn't only 1 story. It would have been cool if they tore down the existing one story structure and built something 5-10 stories with Sweet Green on the ground floor.

Actually that will be a very nice idea!
Well at least it is a nice additional to that strip.
Now if only they can find tenant in front of that future Target in the corner on Chestnut.
I would rather have a nice restaurant then outlet tbh.
Maybe Honey Grow?

Are you talking about sidewalks?

Obviously it takes money. Places you would never go to in W. Philly, where sidewalks hadn't been replaced in decades....have some new ones now. Neglect? That's where a lot of it has been.

Apparently by the Deloitte Building at 16th and Market of whatever, there are plans to build a new glassy structure housing another Honey Grow, Cantina Loredo, and an upscale steakhouse.

Also a very nice Saxbys just opened at 11th and Chestnut on Friday..finally.
