Target is a great store and is always welcome ... Things are always changing, people need to get over it.

Target is a good store; the point I made referenced the possibility of the local unique small businesses being displaced for corp retail chains. I hope Philly can maintain a good mix-balance of both.

I'm happy to see that Penn Herb built a new store. I couldn't remember the name of the magick store on South St a couple of weeks ago & looked it up. Harry's Occult is still there.

PREIT Selling Two Center City Properties As Part of Fund-Raising Strategy - Property

I wish PREIT would have just fixed up 1501 Walnut and sold instead of getting AT&T as a tenant.

I think the only problem with that is that there's not a building I can think of along the Fishtown stretch of the street that has enough retail square footage to accommodate even the slimmed-down I. Goldberg that occupied 1300 Chestnut.

So Duke and Winston is returning to its roots. That's not ALL bad news. Empty storefronts on Chestnut west of Broad don't stay empty for long any more. I predict someone will snap up that space soon.

Allen Edmonds isn't a "renowned brand"?

That wouldn't be Planet Fitness, the "judgement-free zone," would it?

Some statements I throw around from time to time:

"Gay male relationships are often treacherous because we're men, and men are pigs."

Also:

"After many years of observation, I have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as 'normal'."
Yes Allen Edmonds is a renowned brand. And CAMPER is huge.
I think you misunderstood me! ;P

There is always judgement in all types of gyms!
Equinox is a bit "judgey" but they are less "cruisey". (IMHO)

And yes normal is defined differently from one perspective to the next.
I am glad I am in a happy relationship and do not have to go through all these things.
I was one of those average gay guys with "girl mentality"(according to my friends). I slept with guys to get into their hearts just to find out they wanted to fool around. Guys...*
Anyway I am glad I am not single.

I found I Goldberg with a friend when I was in college, when I went with a friend who had been told about the place by her father.
I embarrassed to say that I have never been inside.
I always thought it was some type of Salvation Army place.
I better check it out before it is closed.

I was reading the article too fast.
I read that the At&T building will house the new Lego Discovery Center.
Wouldn't it be fun though? I do not mind Lego Discovery Center in that spot.

SPEAKING OF RETAIL:
I noticed that the escalator across the street from Dillworth Park going down to trains and subways were closed last night. It is said that they are under renovation.
I hope they will also clean the windows. Those are nice (art deco?) windows but are super dirtayyy!

Nooo thats at Plymouth Meeting Mall for the Lego Center, not Center City.

I am confused as to where you are referring, but I don't think they are Art Deco..

No, don't. It will disappoint you. As us older posters have said it doesn't match the size and inventory they had at 9th and Chestnut.
