I can see that it will energize that area of intersection once that and Target opens.
Stop acting like this is unique to Center City. This happens everywhere. I've read stories about this happening in Miami Beach, Chicago and Manhattan. This is not going to scare retailers away from Cetner City.

First of all, I do not act that it is unique to Center City.
You are correct, this happen everywhere.
This happened when I lived in Miami, they robbed Bal Harbor Shops. But I was not as concern as when it is happening here.
This bring me to the second point.

Three of the cities you mentioned have internationally renowned retailers in abundance.
So say even though this happening to these cities, they have good rapport already among retailers. BY retailers I mean not only clothings, but also designer furniture, luxury gym and urban knick knacks.
And what high-end luxury retailers we have in Center City?
We only have a few.
And no, J. Crew and BR are not luxury high end brands.

Correct, we do only have a few, but that has nothing to do with stores being robbed. This has to do with the fact that Center City was a straight up dump in the 90s, and Philadelphia is in the middle of a renaissance and redevelopment. As the redevelopment of the area continues, and it gets wealthier, we will see more retailers come in due time. We're already seeing a mass of retailers coming into the city the way Philly has never really experienced before. It's only matter of time until higher end stores come.

My point wasn't to compare Philadelphia's retail selection to these cities, but to say that this happens in every city across the country, and it's not going to stop retailers from coming to Philadelphia if the buying power is here.

Ugh.... I hadn't heard about the Century 21 robbery!

There's supposed to be a Snap Kitchen near 20th and Callowhill too.

This is supposed to be catering type of establishment, no?
I wonder how it will work.
I mean are they going to have seating for dine-in?

No. Snap Kitchen locations are geared for takeout, with grab 'n' go cases with foods and beverages packaged in containers with color-coded labels to indicate what sorts of characteristics they have.

Here, read away:

Snap Kitchen

The one at 19th and Chestnut, near my office, looks like it's nearly ready to go.

As a resident of University City I find it strange that there is not one real jewelry shop anywhere in the University City district. Where could a consumer buy a Bulova, Seiko, Citizen, Movado or Tag Heuer watch? There's no place where you can get your gold chain repaired, buy a pearl necklace ... let alone shop for an engagement ring. There's a place on 50th and Baltimore called VIX Emporium that sells a limited number of silver items and costume jewelry but that's it.

I am talking about University City, where rents can be $3000 a month or houses sell for $500K or more.
