There have always been students with deep pockets at Penn and a bunch of them have always come from NYC. But, yes, tastes, and campus expectations, have changed.

Bringing up our beloved mall again.

The Burberry and Louis Vuitton are vacating their current spaces in KoP and opening full flagship stores in the expansion.
Not sure about LV, but Burberry only has a few flagship locations in the US... NYC, Boston, Chicago, LA, San Fran and a few others.

KoP is really a funny place in that people who go to the mall food court, for instance, are not gonna buy anything in either store because they can't. Many of them probably have no idea what either store is about. So to me it's a waste and short-sighted. Sigh....

There has to be the market for it if the brands chose to expand though... maybe tourists/wealthy people in the area.

Oh trust me, there is plenty of money shopping in KOP. Was there this weekend and there was a Lambo and Bentley and a Ferrari all parked in front of Neiman Marcus. Any of these luxury brands will do well here.

Oh, sure. But there's a reason JC Penney's is there.

I know that..... I'm probably the only person posting here who remembers the mall before it became a mall, etc. But all kinds of people go to the mall...

I wonder how big the expansion is. I have seen only an escalator going up from the expansion of Bloomies.

Now going back to our area.
I wonder what will replace Hallmark on Chestnut. (Not the one that is still opened, but I am talking about the one by Second Time Around).
And will Old Navy open?
Are they going to do anything with the building?

There are two Hallmark stores in Suburban Station..... Just saying...

I read something about Old Navy's move recently, but uh.... I don't remember the particulars.
