Obvi I know not everyone who shops there is rich, but JC Penney knows there a lot of profit in that mall, hence why they want to be there, plus that JC Penney is a really nice one actually, good collections compared to your average one. There are some midlevel stores, but Simons goal for the mall is to make it mostly upscale, its in their mission statement.

I wonder what will replace Hallmark on Chestnut. (Not the one that is still opened, but I am talking about the one by Second Time Around).
And will Old Navy open?
Are they going to do anything with the building?

!55,000 square feet, so a fairly large addition.

Old Navy has a summer/fall expected opening.

Anyone know what two new places are going in on chestnut between 16 and 15? Hopefully something more upclass than fastfood restaurants and dollar stores.

I love/hate Simons. Their Franklin Mills reboot is..... .(unprintable on CD)

Anyhow I do get it. I just wish there was a better way to have some of these really high end stores happen in CC in my lifetime.

Is there any chance one of the empty store fronts on Market Street in Old City NOT going to be a new hoagie place?

Good god, that stretch is becoming an outdoor food court.

Another good news (but only for gay guys and guys who like fancy undies and what not).
A store called Nutz and Boltz is opening in Midtown Village.

The Gayborhood Is Getting Its First Gay-Centric Loungewear Store

If you have been getting your Andrew Christian undies online, you can get them here now.

Design Within Reach will make a great addition to Market East: Furniture retailer is coming to East Market. Finally an announcement that doesn't involve an outlet.

Also of note is the relocation of 9 merchants from the design center. This could easily evolve into a design corridor. Picture a new retail development on 8th and Market with Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware and Crate & Barrel setting up shop and Roche Bobois and Bo Concept relocating to larger digs. Hey - a guy can dream.

WOW!
I love Design Within Reach!
This is actually a very good addition!

Hey you never know! A Crate and Barrel and Restoration Hardware can fit into that space!
I would like to see Ligne Roset and Kartell there.

"Vince" on Walnut had their windows smashed in. $12,000 worth of clothing merchandise stolen. 2 black males 1 black female. Wow not good. There doesnt seem to be enough police in Center City. Criminals are way too comfortable. Merchants must be getting discouraged
