'Course you guys probably have no memory of what 13th used to be like between Chestnut and Locust. Or the "merry-go-round" stuff that used to go on in the heart of Rittenhouse on Spruce and Pine.

I was disappointed when that closed, but also hopeful that a national clothing retailer would come in. I love Wawa, but I knew that location would be troublesome for that corner.

I forget why they closed other than over expansion in a chancy retail environment during the height of the Great Recession. Plus online shopping probably helped kill them. They had another store in Wynnewood too for awhile.

The fact that the big Wawa across from the Comcast Ctr, on Arch St. seems trouble free shows how "block to block" Philly can be.

I'm not sure that's going to impress anyone in Philadelphia.

Oliver Peoples, Rag & Bone, and Calligaris announced KoP locations this week.

Rag & Bone will have 2 Philly area locations now. Calligaris is an upscale furniture store and OP is an awesome extremely expensive brand of glasses. 11th US location and 7th outside of NYC.
