I don't think Le Pain Quotidien's business model calls on saturating an urban district the way most C-store chains' models do. (Don't think this is unique to Wawa: Count the number of 7-Eleven locations you pass as you walk around Center City. The reason you don't find as many disheveled homeless people in front of them is because they get less traffic than a typical Wawa does.)

They're already at 8th and Walnut (there's a 7-Eleven across from it) and in the 1400 block of the same street (up from that Wawa).

Unfortunately that's true because the Wawas draw certain people because, tbh, they're not welcome anywhere else in CC except for the random 7Eleven. It, if anything else, exhibits the have/have not problem.

Phone stores don't attract street people. I don't have a problem with them.

There are three LPQ's nearby that I know of. At 8th and Walnut, 1400 block of Walnut and 1900 block of Callowhill.

They do not saturate, but a Le Pain, Maison or Pret would be much better options for 13th and Chestnut or 6th and Chestnut than a Wawa. They have better quality food, higher end, don't promote loitering, and they only sell baked good and prepared food (no gum, chips, lottery ticket, cigarettes and stuff like that).

They have been popping up everywhere in my neighborhood up here. Maison Keyser, Joe & the Juice, and 3 Prets have opened within 5 minutes of me in the past year, and there is a Le Pain already nearby.

The Wawa at 19th and Market is probably the only new location that makes sense, and the new one coming to Drexels campus.

My son swears by Sprouts. There was one where I used to live but it was off the beaten track, and I always forgot it was there. Although this would be a hike on the bus, definitely doable since I already take the bus to South St for Acme and Whole Foods occasionally. This isn't much farther .
