Read this last night so glad Dallas BBQ is opening a Philly spot. I've been to two locations in Manhattan and i loved it.

I'm looking forward to attending the soft opening party for Tradesmens this coming week.

I had a chance to speak with one of the owners at last night's Best of Philly Soirée, and it sounds like he has been honing his craft in Pennsylvania Dutch country, much like the owner of the South Philly Smökhaus did (he grew up in Sinking Spring).

I'm thrilled to see some LOCAL BBQ pitmasters bringing their game to Philly plates, and doing so with Q I wouldn't be embarrassed at all to take visiting friends from my hometown (Kansas City, in case you all forgot) out to eat. "You'll be a tough critic," the Tradesmens guy told me when I informed him where I was from. (They had run out of samples by the time I got to their booth. We got a ravenous crowd last night.)

Looks like Polo Ralph Lauren is opening, and another Ulta. Glad to see some solid retailers joining the bunch.

As for the delay, I have no idea.... my guess would be funding or construction delays.

I’m curious to see if retailers like Ulta, Forever 21 and H&M maintain their locations west of Broad once the FDP opens up.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm assuming the rents are cheaper in Market East...

I could see those stores doing that since they like having lots of locations, and they are generally popular everywhere.

Stores like Polo Ralph Lauren would only have one.

I was also hoping for a J Crew outlet since there is both a full Banana Republic and Banana Republic Factory in CC already.

Landlords on Walnut Street may need to face the reality that their rental rates are now longer viable.

I'd like to see a BB&B. It seems it would be a great location for them.

As a newcomer, I find Walnut Street to be an odd hodgepodge and not all that inviting. Maybe this will be the kick in the pants landlords need to invest some thought (and money) into their properties.
