Yes, King of Prussia does indeed seem maxed out in terms of retail options -- mostly it's just duplication at this point. However, this new proposed retail development will at least be mixed-use in nature, as was originally envision in the Village at Valley Forge.

In the DC area, JBG Rosenfeld is a pretty progressive and dynamic developer -- this should be exciting for King of Prussia. This definitely won't be a run-of-the-mill strip mall.

Here's a picture of what they're proposing in Fairfax County, Virgnia, as an example of their work:

That is something I miss to. Shopping here is very limited.
Unfortunately; no that I know of. Anybody would probably help to shed a light?
There is always Bufallo Exchange on Chestnut. But it is mostly miss and less hit.

As far as I know living in Philly for 3 years, majority people here and in South Eastern PA in general are more conservative in spending their money for clothing, shoes, etc.
The upside of it is that when they have sales, people seem not to flock the stores.
So whatever usually are on sales will be available in smaller sizes.
This is also especially true in suburban malls.
Hence my part time job as a personal shopper

Actually there is Saks Fifth Ave. But for people like us who live in CC and rely on public transportation, it is rather unknown to us. I did not know it either until one day I actually drove through the area while renting zip car/

Its amazing how much retail is out that way. Between KOP,Plymouth Meeting,The Philadelphia Outlets in Limerick. A Shoppers heaven out that way which makes Center Citys job all the more tougher from a retail aspect.

CR*P! Wegmann's woohooo!
Now if only SEPTA can realize that train extension to KOP....

The American Eagle is under construction on the 1700 block of Chestnut. On the 1600 block of Chestnut there is signage for a Marc by Marc Jacobs store.... but the pictures show it net to Destination Maternity on Walnut... so IDK what's going on here.

I wish someone would revive both Wanmaker's and Gimbel's.

About the Gallery and Girard Square block

Quote:
Owner and developer PREIT (Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust), which recently finished acquiring all the parcels of land that the Gallery sits on, is promising big news for the mall sometime early next year. CEO Joseph Coradino has promised a major renovation that will open the mammoth stretch of concrete with windows to the street, and “transformative” new anchor stores.

New development is also promised across the street on the Girard Estate’s property, which spans the entire city block between 11th and 12th and Market and Chestnut Streets. The block was recently purchased from the City Board of Trusts opening that to new projects.

Leased, not purchased, from the Estate of Stephen Girard, which still owns the site.

I'd still love to hear what the Bloomingdale's folks have planned.

Burberry on Walnut is closing. I am disappointed. We gain Uniqlo -a cheap retail, but we lose Burberry which is a high-end retail.
