^ Good news. And J Crew just re-opened their full-line store on Walnut. Glad to see some energy on the Walnut/Chestnut corridor.

Hopefully the former Rite-Aid space at 19/Arch gets scooped up soon; it's now the former Rite-Aid cuz it just closed. This now available space is across the street from the Comcast Tech Center/s and the Four Seasons should, or used to at least, bode well for a retail business.

That must have recently closed. I guess it lost a lot of foot traffic due to the remote work world.

Maybe mini Target will move in.

This should be opening in Center City! But looks like the old plans for JCPenney are now renovating into a WayFair store, not a mixed-use development.

Wayfair to open flagship store with a rooftop bar at King of Prussia Mall

https://www.bizjournals.com/philadel...Pos=0#cxrecs_s

"The store will go into 104,065 square feet of space that JCPenney had once occupied but vacated in 2017. In addition to selling home furnishings, the new store will have a café on the main level with indoor and outdoor seating as well as a 14,000-square-foot rooftop deck and bar, according to Upper Merion officials."

It must have literally just closed. I stopped in there a couple weeks ago and the shelves were really bare to empty...was thinking, is this place closing? Stopped by yesterday and saw handwritten sign/s ''closed forever''. No announcement otherwise.

Had to be a remote worker casualty and general lack of any collateral foot traffic. Don't know what the theft scene was like there though.

Otherwise, this should be a prime location again (hopefully).

A longtime Rite Aid in NYC at 50th & 8th recently closed due to theft and their lease expiring.
I doubt this location closed due to theft. My guess is a large store and heavily decreased foot traffic, stinks either way, as it was a convenient store to have.

I'm hardly ever, ever, ever, ever over there (like not in four years). But but, dang, I liked the bar and sushi place that is (was?) there. And the yogurt place and Wawa.

Can you blame them for NOT coming into the city?
