Lush Cosmetics on Walnut has abruptly (and permanently) closed: https://www.lushusa.com/shop?StoreID=621

Update: Someone in the Rittenhouse Facebook group said that they had the remainder of their lease bought out. Assuming that's what happened - I haven't heard of this scenario and don't know what it indicates for the future of that space.

Glossier opens storefront near Rittenhouse Square

"The beauty brand's new location, with architecture inspired by Philadelphia's art museums, is one of just seven stores worldwide"

https://www.phillyvoice.com/makeup-s...-philadelphia/

Also, DSW Shoes in the Fashion District has closed, no word on why at this point.

That was barely 2 years old... Just tear down the Fashion District at this point . I wish the Sixers plan was happening sooner.

Walnut: I saw Vans is about to re-open and Aritzia is opening early next year.

Random suburban retail update, but my mom said Sephora opened in Glen Mills.

Vans and Express Edit are open now. Along with the Glossier opening Walnut looks better.

I actually saw someone with a Glossier bag headed home from the Pen & Pencil Club on the Broad Street Line last night.

When did the Vans store open? I'm not seeing anything on their website.

Not sure but I walked by this week and it seemed like people were in there.

Express Edit has opened up on Chestnut street:

https://www.retaildive.com/news/6-ex...0-days/631089/

"Express will open six Express Edit stores in the next 90 days, according to CEO Tim Baxter.
The stores will be located in SoHo and the Flatiron District in New York City, on Newbury Street in Boston, in Brickell and South Beach in Miami, and near Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia, Baxter told analysts on a call on Wednesday. "

It's nice that our shopping district is being included with these others.
