I'm a 28 year old professional looking to move to Philadelphia in about 2 months for my job. I'll be working out of the international airport.

Why the subway? The subway does not go to the airport. You can take the bus or the regional rail line.

Exactly how much are you willing to spend? Getting around the suburban station or market east station (not china town unless you're chinese) seems perfect.

IF there are buses from South Philly to the airport... look there. BTW South Philly has a subway too.

South Philly subway doesn't got to the airport. You have to head North just to go South.

University City. Not expensive. Not dangerous. Has a regional rail stop that services the airport route. Close to busses and trolley. Plenty of opportunity to find a roommate situation with other professionals and grad students. I would personally stay away from sharing with undergrads. Remember how annoying and irresponsible we were when we were undergrad?
