We've been in a hotel in Horsham for a few days, scoping out apartments to rent. We keep striking out. Either they are dirty and old, or on an apartments rating website, there are only 4 places in suburbs that were recommended by over 75% of the reviewers.
We just want something reasonably priced and somewhere around King of Prussia, Conshohocken, or somewhere where it's not too "city" but not too "country" either.
Any ideas?

I always take rating websites with a grain of salt. People are generally quicker to criticize than they are to praise. I am sure there are very nice apartment complexes in KOP.

Check out O'neill Properties Group - Commercial and Residential Real Estate Developers | Luxury residential communities | Apartments for rent | New Homes and Condos for sale for a list of several new complexes. One is in Conshohocken. Also, in Conshohocken, check out Plymouth Gardens, North Lane Apartments, and Plymouth Park. None are new, but they are in pretty good shape, especially Plymouth Gardens. Check out Place One Apartments in Plymouth Meeting. KOP is full of complexes. Did you check out Blair Mill Village in Horsham (though I'll admit they are somewhat dreary)?

Thanks very much for the recommendations.

And yes, I was by the Blair Mill Village this afternoon and wasn't happy with what I saw. I wouldn't feel very safe there. The place had a lot of people milling around it, a sign that there may be many unemployed people living there, which is not what we want to be around.

Lincoln Woods on Germantown Pike in Lafayette Hill is nice, but it's not cheap. Very close to Chestnut Hill and Wissahickon Park and Morris Arboretum are literally across the street.

You can also find decent apartments that aren't in a complex.

See if Korman suites has anything in that area. We lived in two different ones-one in NE Philly, and one in Bensalem and they weren't bad.

Just checked out Korman Suites. Unfortunately they're waaayyy out of our price range. We can't afford $1300 for a 1-bedroom apt. We're trying for around $800-950.
Thanks anyway.

West Chester area is only 15- 20 minutes from KOP/ Conshy.

West Chester was named one of Americas Destinctive destinations by Travel Magazine last year along with places like Annapolis,Carmel Ca., Bar harbor Me.. Its definitely worth a looksee.

West Goshen(right next to west chester) was rated as the 12th best place to live in the usa by Money Magazine.WC/East Goshen/West Goshen/Exton might be worth a look. Very nice area. Theres about a dozen apt complexes between WC and East Goshen.

Goshen Meadows Apartments West Chester, PA - Apartments for Rent in West Chester Pennsylvania

Good luck.

Check out the Wynnewood Park Apts in Wynnewood, and the Thomas Wynne House ( I think Narberth). Both are walking distance to regional rail and very nice. Older, but extremely well maintained.
