Last night as I got home from work, the conductor said that earlier that day a man was struck by SEPTA train going to the burb. Why are people so clueless?
The fence is there - and I am pretty sure that there is a sign that says that one cannot climb the fence.
This is probably the 9th or 10th people I heard got killed by SEPTA train due to their own negligence ever since I moved to PA since May 2010.

Since I work in the burb (near Lansdale), I cannot tell you how many times there were people attempted to outran and crossed the track as the train started to move after picking up passengers.
Is your time that precious that you cannot wait 50 seconds for the train to pass before you try to cross the track?

Well, I am not aware any of those 9 or 10 were suicide.
In the case of the last one, the guy was just trying to pass thru the track.

I try not to play the role "holier than thou" part, but it is so foolish of the boy to try to break the law and cross the track.

The same with these two girls in Maine, who sunbathed on the train track and got struck.
