Hi all. Lots of useful info on this site.

Here's our situation, my wife will start working at Hahneman hospital later this year, and I will continue to work in Newark NJ. I'm looking for advice about suburbs that would give my wife an approximate 20-30 minute drive to the hospital (door-to-door) if she were to leave about 7AM everyday. She would prefer driving rather than taking the train. I also will likely be driving down from newark, NJ 4-5x/week which appears to be about 1hr 30mins from most of these suburbs on google maps. Not ideal for myself, but it is 2 years, so I'm willing to make those long drives for the sake of my wife. In addition to commute, my first priority is safety for those nights that I will not be able to stay with my wife.

I'm hoping for suggestions of suburbs/apartments that would fit this criteria. Some areas that seem to have potential (purely through google maps) are riverton, riverside, moorestown, willingboro, and on the philly side a number of apartments on State rd alongside I-95. Again I know absolutely nothing about these communities, just purely looking at the maps. Is it better to live on the jersey side or the PA side in light of our situation and the fact that she wants to drive? Thanks for your help!

What is your preferred budget? The suburbs on the PA side in Bucks County can range anywhere from working class to extremely wealthy

If you want to live in a suburb, stay on the Jersey side. In PA, 20-30 minutes from Hahneman means you are still in the city, especially leaving at seven.

Budget is 1k-2k, so pretty flexible. Looking for a 2br, 2bath at least. After doing more research, I agree that the NJ side seems to better in terms of safety as well as traffic during the morning rush, but you guys who live in the area will have a better idea I'm sure.

Even a 20 minute ride to Jersey is a stretch. Hahneman is almost dead center of Philly. But it is the closest burb

Not quite true. It's doable from a few of the inner western suburbs (albeit you'll be scraping the 30-minute mark). However, those areas are not the best if you're also looking to get to Newark, NJ.

Default Where to live

I would recommend Riverton based on your wishes. I commuted to HUH for three years..17 min door to door at that hour. Safe and beautiful community. You can even take light rail to Trenton and transfer to njtransit to Newark if that works for you.

Good luck

I agree on New Jersey, All Burlington County is good except not Willingboro which is depressed, high crime with bad schools. Something close to Rt 73 and 130 is good because it feeds in to Tacony Palmyra Bridge which is two dollars less than the other bridges.

Riverton is a wonderful sleeper community that is always under the radar.. And thats the way they want it.. The 4th of July celebration is second to none.. And 5 minutes from the Tacony bridge bryson
