I and my 2 daughters will likely be moving to the Villanova area this summer, as my older girl will be attending grad school at Villanova in the Fall. We would like to rent a townhome with 3 bedrooms which would satisfy the following criteria:

-not in a congested area...would prefer something with expansive grounds, fitness center, pool
-good school district....younger daughter will be a HS sophomore in the Fall
-in an area that has some charm...nice downtown......do not want suburban sprawl !!
-would like to keep monthly rent under $2K

I did find something in West Chester..Windsor at Windermere. Looks really nice, but is about 12 miles from Villanova.

Can anyone offer any other suggestions?
Many thanks!!

Windsor is not exactly downtown. It's not suburban sprawl but that part of Rt 3 has a lot of strip malls and it's still a drive to the borough.

You might like Sharples Works which is downtown in the borough. You can walk to the entertainment. I think a 2br loft will come in under 2k. It's a decent place; however, it was converted into lofts and apartments in the early 90s and some things like kitchen cabinets and countertops are starting to show their age.

Do some research on Chesterbrook townhomes which puts you much closer to Villanova and in the highly regarded Tredyffrin-Easttown School district. Conestoga High School.

The public schools around Villanova are superb and high achieving.Among the best if not thee best in the entire Philadelphia region.

These are the 4 School Districts surrounding Villanova. You can't go wrong with any of them.

Tredyffrin-Easttown
Great Valley
Radnor
Lower Merion

Good luck
