Hi all. First of all, I apologize in advance if this is inappropriate or considered rude. Please feel free to delete if it is against the TOS.

My family is moving to the area north of Philadelphia, likely in the Doylestown and surrounding area.

We are a church going family and need to find a new church, and hopefully Christian school, in the area.

While looking into Christian schools my husband found Upper Bucks Christian school and decided to go to its supporting church, Bethel Baptist.

While I was researching the school I found some pretty harsh forum posts (not on city-data) regarding the school and the church members in general. The types of things I would not be happy to be a part of. For example, the church was called a "cult" and the members were "known" to be rude to their neighbors and put down women and such. These are all unacceptable to me BUT you can never completely believe what you read on the internet, I know.

So here's my question: Do you know of this church and school? What is their reputation in the area? Please feel free to say "I have no idea, I've never heard of them" as my main concern is that I do not want to move to a new area and already have a "strike" against our family in the eyes of the majority of our new community.

My husband has liked the services and people he's met at the church so far but we are completely open to different churches. We do not go to a Baptist church now (we attend a Christian Reformed Church here in CA) so that is not needed.

I would just an idea of the general consensus, if any, so that I can either explore this further or cross it off the list.

Thank you so much in advance!

I have a good friend who lives in Quakertown and attends this church https://www.calvarycentralbucks.org/ I think his kids go to Calvary Baptist School.

Can't speak to that church or school, but I can recommend this church -- Calvary Church of Souderton. It has a large, active congregation. You could email the children's minister and ask where children in that area attend school.

You could also contact Covenant Church in Buckingham Township and ask them as well. They're a newer, smaller church -- loads of kids and very active.

Thank you so much for the replies. I think the fact that so few responded means that my fear of it being a polarizing thing in the area can be pretty much discounted. I'm glad about that. I'll definitely check into those churches, thanks for the tips!

Valley Forge Baptist Church and School has a great reputation. It is in Collegeville. I know many that attend and they will be happy to provide information for you if interested.
