Is there anything where you can invest into more development in philly? Say you want to put $10k towards skyscraper development in center city. Seems like that would be a good combo to owning a home and living in the city.

The only way I know of is to buy an apartment in an existing condo or co-op which reduces vacancies and eventually promotes higher prices and more building. 10,000 is a pretty low down payment however.

It seems like there should be something like this. Something like a stock where they take everyone's money and put it back into startups, restoring realestate to prime conditions, building new realestate (especially very aesthetic), and promoting the city with things like movies and music that include it as the center point. Then the money used in realestate etc are used to provide returns for the stock.

May be MikeNigh just started Philly forum's first crowdsourcing (Crowdsourcing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) project! I am at least interested.
