A 14 yr old boy hanging out in the mall with his girl friend on a Friday night. WTF!

Then he gets jumped by a group of teens. Sick, sick sick!

I don't like the way they reported a 'shooting' when nobody was even hit. Crazy story, though ... Somebody wanted that woman dead.
This shouldn't be held as a reflection of the neighborhood ... I just hope it wasn't random.
Good police work getting this maniac off the streets:

I can't wait to hear the motive ...

I wouldn't mind this 17 year old being put down:

He was a busy little beaver, yes?

They could have been from anywhere. Probably just a hate crime that will not be prosecuted as such.

He's a pedophile AND a thief? Hell's not hot enough for this monster ...

And who in their right mind would donate money to help house pedophiles??

Subaru, I'm beginning to think you get a cheap thrill from posting every little thing in this thread.

You mean it's not clear what the benefit is of re-posting all the crime articles that are already posted in Philly.com or the other news outlets? 24 hour crime reporting via the web, tv and paper is overwhelming for many, creating obsessions. Why else continue to re-post everything that's already published?

I know the intent is to balance the focus on positives, but there are more productive ways to do that than parroting Philly.com.

West Philly? I think not.

http://6abc.com/news/teen-hospitaliz...oting/1841093/

The 1800 block of Montrose is in SW Center City, Graduate Hospital area.

Anyway, it's a decent area, hope it was drug-related, not some random student who was minding his own business.

Regarding the mall attack, this story was on the news last night and NBC10 said the teens attended Radnor Middle School (both the attackers and the victim) and that police are investigating a possible past encounter, making this not-so-random.
