Do people take jobs for any other reason 99% of the time?

If you sign up to be a cop you have to know the drama that comes with the job. So its not always wise to take a job because of the money only. For example, a trashman has a nice salary and benefits but I have no interest in picking up trash in the heat or freezing cold.

It's a big reason why people take jobs, but I'm not sure the percentage is 99.

Otherwise, we'd all be pursuing careers in finance.

Totally agree that any cop who took the oath better get up every day and be ready to put themselves in harm's way to protect their community. I am just saying, almost all of us do what we do in order to have a roof over our head, provide for ourselves/families, and have affordable medical care. I'll never hold it against someone to take a job just for the salary and benefits.

You have to like something about the job besides the money or you are setting yourself up for depression.

https://6abc.com/penns-landing-shoot...bery/12016361/ This isn't a good look for us. it wasn't even gang-related (few shootings in this city are).
