Preston and Steve are the worst. Another reason have satellite radio. P&S are too tame for me.

I do like the work they do for charity though.

Definitely not! I would leave Penn if they put out such rubbish.

I think the OP needs to be medicated if he thinks anything in Philly's the worst.

I agree with you about Preston and Steve. I have no ideal how anyone can take 10 mins of them laughing at themselves.

XPN. We receive it in Harrisburg and besides NPR it is the only station I listen to.
Sometimes when I'm in Philadelphia there is a station that plays funk. Don't know the channel.

Nevermind. I had speculated that the person who said "Penn State in Philly" was getting Penn State confused with U.Penn, but then I noticed the name - obviously C-Note knows the difference. Still not sure what station was meant by that comment.

I think it would be an exageration to say Philly has the worst stations, but I agree that it's really not good compared to a lot of other markets. WMGK plays the same tired trove of classic rock, WMMR plays banal corporate-selected rock these days, WXPN is almost the only place to hear indie rock but they mix in too much of what I'd consider adult contemporary (though I do love Funky Friday). I miss WDRE. I also hear way more "deep cut" songs on rock radio in other parts of the country. Even Charleston, SC has a better rock station.

However, on the flip side, one of the best syndicated public radio programs is produced right here, and I'd say WHYY is one of the best public radio stations in the country.

You have a track record on the South Jersey board with one complaint after another because it's not Hoboken. Here's the thing, if you dislike South Jersey & Philly so much, the good news for you is that the roads run both ways.

You've sparked my curiosity and I am going to investigate this... one day. Trust me, I will figure it out!
