Nice shots, Nexis. Hopefully the next segment of high speed rail will open soon.

I enjoyed your pictures. Thank you! Though I've always been fascinated with trains, I haven't had many opportunities to travel on them. It was nice having an inside look at so many different types of train cars.

Thanks for posting the train pictures. The trains and cars look better than the average Amtrak stuff I see here in Milwaukee or even Chicago.

A SEPTA engineer should have absconded with that NJ Transit dual-mode locomotive and immediately resumed service out to Reading just to prove how successful that line will be.

Very cool, thanks. I'm amazed that Amtrak brought that meatball out for display. It looks totally trashed. Or maybe that's a not-so-subtle attempt at informing the public of their dire financial needs.

Those will be gone by 2015 replaced with 70 new locos , and possibly up to 160 if more lines like the Proposed Knowledge Corridor , Lackawanna line , Downstate Delaware and Cape Codder go full build which is Electrification..all those lines would come with commuter rail aswell along a decent length.

I'm aware of the new locos, and I'm very excited. It was still an odd choice to bring out on the one day where Amtrak shows off is wares to the public. There are toasters in much better shape running around the NE.

VERY nice pictures Nexis!! Really enjoy trains. I was not aware that 30th st station had that this weekend.. I knew about the train day but did not see the activities at 30th street.

Have you ever visited the train museum at Strasburg in Lancaster? We do ever summer. Well worth the trip

RR Museum of PA :: Welcome

I was at the Strasburg Railroad yesterday. Great place as long as it's NOT during the weeks when "Thomas the Train" is in residence, at which times it's a total circus (complete with tent).
