Oh, Magic Carpet. I like the Belladonna 'meat'ball special as much as the next guy, but IMO Magic Carpet is kinda dated. All of their food pretty much tastes the same. It was cool when vegetarian food was more of a novelty and not so easy to find everywhere, but it's not the 80's anymore. Vegan/Vegetarian in the city cuisine has come a long way lately, and they're serving the exact same food now that they were 20-25 years ago. I think they really need to step their game up at this point.

I've yet to be to Magic Carpet, but I do anticipate it happening one day. Either that, or the kielbasa right next to it... I do love falafels with all my heart.

Except you'd have to eat more than $5 worth to fill up. They're like the finger sandwich version of tacos. And nowhere near the two areas the OP mentioned.

I'd recommend the crepe guy at 32nd & Market. Some of his crepes are $6, but really large and filling. And I think some are under $5 (maybe just the sweet crepes).

The way people talk about portions on this message board makes me entirely aware of the obesity epidemic in America. (Not saying any of you are even overweight, but a lot of people have a harder time controlling weight at the same portions)

Try the Welsh Farms convenience stores in Upper Darby and Asbury Park, the Pantry 1 convenience store in Wallingford, and the Blimpie sandwich shops at the Hess stations in Manheim and Annville.

I've eaten at Magic Carpet a few times and have never been filled up by it. Also, I stopped eating there since the guy would make my food with bare hands which would also be used to collect my money. When I pointed it out, he denied it and told his partner that I didnt want the food. So **** those people.

I guess I can try Jimmy John's again. I went there once and had a tuna melt, but I remember it being significantly smaller than Subway/Wawa and not filling me up. It was more expensive too I think.

Any others?

I wasn't aware that a dollar was considered "a lot" of money.

I would keep a look out for 100 Montaditos as they should open in all major cities shortly. They are mostly in Florida today, but have expanded to Chicago, NY, and San Francisco.

Their business plan has them expanding faster than Starbucks.

It's a Spanish (Europe) chain, and will have selections at $1, $1.50,, $2, and $2.50.

Beer will come in $2, $3, and $3.50 plus 5 @ $12 .

It will never happen that you get half size for half price. It is not consistent with the cost of business, Half the food will always cost 65%-80% of the price.
