Personally I hope Center City never loses it's pockets of seediness.

Same way it's "common knowledge" that most inner city blacks turn to crack?

Keep going. This amuses me.

Well then that's a separate issue. Why not just say "prostitutes, drug abusers" and leave gender preference out of it? The part about them being transvestites is irrelevant and bigoted. Suppose the sentence had been: "Both streets have numerous problems such as prostitutes, white people, drug dealers and the Parker-Spruce Hotel." See what I mean?

Update: I typed this before I read your reasoning that "it's common knowledge that most transvestites turn to prostitution, it's a fact". If that's really your rationalization and your belief, then the point I tried to make above really has no chance of getting across. Oh well. I just hope someday you realize that there are trans people in all walks of life (parents, office managers, lawyers, home-owners, grad students), not just on street corners and drag shows. They may be less visible to you than the stereotype of the flamboyantly dressed, overly-made-up transvestite, but they exist in great numbers and are tax-paying, productive members of society. And most certainly do not turn to prostitution more often than not, as you claim is fact.

Great numbers? Where? In my travels and experiences, the only trannies I've come across were working the streets or advertising for sex in the back of the City Paper. Excuse me for never having seen one performing a regular job.
I'm sure this will be lost on you because my gut tells me you'd rather see things how'd you like them to be, rather than how they really are.
A tea, perhaps?

Look at Mr. Larry Bowa, his anecdotal limited experiences speak to how the world in each region functions. How lovely for you to be such an authority! I, for one, have a transvestite friend and I'm quite positive they are not out selling their bodies. I can imagine that they are not unique in this manner and in fact they can attest to this. I'm sorry that you feel the need to make such comments based only upon your limited exposure, despite your claims of (apparently) being well-travelled.

Look at Mr. Cnote11, he has one transvestite friend and all of a sudden he's an authority on trannies and knows them all! Are you with your friend at all times? I've traveled quite a bit, have yet to come across a tranny working a regular job. Sorry to disappoint you.
A tea, perhaps?

I'm quite positive that my transvestite friend, who has a bunch of transvestite friends, is a better authority on the happenings of said community than you could ever be in your entire life. In all of my vast travels to every place in the entire world that consisted of extensive submersion into niche communities, I've never met a Larry Bowa that wasn't a knuckle-dragging cretin, but I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.

Oh and by the way, I don't need to know all transvestites to state that at least one transvestite is either A) Not a prostitute or B) Holds a regular job

Your criticism falls short of the mark, but that isn't much of a surprise.
