No, it's been in use for a while...at least since my brother finished high school in 1993.

"Uptown" is really Germantown and the Oak Lanes, and I suppose, Mt. Airy. There's a Facebook group called "You know you're from Uptown Philadelphia when..." that's pretty funny.

It's funny that this would come up in a thread because I was listening to that song the other day and yelled out that line in front of my friends. That's my favorite verse in the song.

Haha yeah I was a member of some Uptown Philly facebook group-not sure if I am still.
