Anyone know this area? What section of town is this in? Also, I am basically wondering where the most affordable, yet still safe areas are at least somewhat close to Jeanes in case I take this job. I have a wife and 4 young kids, so I'm thinking nearby suburbs in all likelihood. Would be willing to commute 30 mins or so if necessary. Thanks!

FoxChase is a good community thats the community that the hospital sits in.

Elkins park,Glenside,Jenkintown all close to Jeanes hospital as well.

In Philly Fox Chase is a great neighborhood as is Pine Valley (above Fox Chase on the other side of Pennypack Park). Pine Valley is a bit more expensive though. The only big drawback to those areas is that they're in the Philadelphia school district. Both are very clean and safe sections. Immediately west of Fox Chase in Montgomery County (and pretty much indistinguishable from Fox Chase) is Rockledge which is a nice community as well and a little more affordable than Elkins Park and Glenside.

Agree with the above poster about the Philly SD being a HUGE consideration since you have 4 kids. Unless you plan to home school or send them to private school, I'd recommend looking in Jenkintown, Glenside, Elkins Park areas. All wouls be a very reasonable commute. Also worth noting that mailing addresses don't necessarily coincide with school districts, so for example, something in "Jenkintown" may be in Jenkintown SD (very tiny) or in Abington SD. Glenside and Elkins Park could be Abington or Cheltenham. All are decent districts, but just be aware, that you shouldn't assume based on the address.

Best of luck!
