Hello all, I am planning to move to Philadelphia with 2 friends at the beginning of September. Here's the deal:

We are early to mid-twenties and will all be working at the Parx casino. We would like a place that's close to urban Philadelphia but is a maximum of 15 miles from Parx. We're looking for a luxury rental, and our budget is 2K to 2.5K a month. We also have 4 cars between the 3 of us.

Is this possible? I am not familiar with real estate in Philly. What would be the best neighborhoods for us? Thanks in advance!

By close to urban Philadelphia, do you mean in Philadelphia or in a nearby suburb? That will help narrow things down as far as suggestions.

How long are you willing to travel? 15 miles could be a rather long commute depending on where you go.

stay out of Philly. You don't work in Philly and moving there will cost you 4% of your wages right off the top. Look at Southampton and Feasterville.

A nearby suburb would be preferable

I just did a quick Craigslist search and found no places going for over 2 grand in those neighborhoods

I do not know of any apartments anywhere in the vicinity of Parx that would be considered luxurious. Salem Harbor in Bensalem is a real nice place and well within your range. It is on the river, nice clubhouse, boat slips if your interested in owning a boat, and no section 8. About a 10 minute ride from Parx.

Live near suburban, market east, or temple regional rail station and leave your car parked at the trevose station. It should take you about 50-60 minutes to get to work.
