Hi!

We are very seriously considering putting an offer in on a house in Wallingford. We have visited the area. We know we like it; schools are great.

My biggest question is, what areas are considered desirable? Which are not? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Wallingford is in Delaware county.

Desirable Areas:

Aston
Bethel (garnet Valley)
Chadds Ford
Concordville (garnet valley)
Edgemont
Havorford
Marple
Media
Middletown
Nether Providence (Wallingford)
Newtown Square
Radnor
Rose Valley
Springfield
Swarthmore
Thornbury
Upper Providence

Wallingford/Swarthmore is a great area, near other great areas. Just dont go into chester, but there is no overflow from chester into other more affluent suburbs. Most of delaware county is safe and a great place to live.

Thanks! We are considering a house in Wallingford that is very close to the Chester border. Everything seems great, but its hard to tell not having spent much time there.

I lived close to Chester Park on Media Parkway (which is considered the "garden City" section) for 23 years and never had a problem except for some teenagers who were stealing things out of UNLOCKED cars at night. I found it to be a nice area because of the lower taxes in the township. What section are you looking at??
