Hi, all. I am a pretty new poster, and a new resident of Philly. This might be kind of an esoteric question, but I'm hoping to have a custom sterling-silver ring made with a family stone that I will have soon. I am not a millionaire or anywhere close, sadly, so my cash outlay won't be extravagant. I'm looking for a simple band with some rough-hewn or "organic" designs integrated, not a standard stone setting. Does anyone have any experience having something like that commissioned around here by an independent jeweler? Does anyone know of any sources where one could find college or university students looking to make extra money on a project? Thanks in advance, and Happy New Year!

You might want to check with the University of the Arts or Tyler, which is connected to Temple.

You might want to check into people who do wirewrapping or wireweaving.
