Hello to all...

I currently live in upper Darby. I am curious if Sharon Hill is a decent place to live. Notably crime and pollution. I have a 7 years old kids but schools are not an issue to me. I don't believe that schools make kids smart. All that matters is a peace of mind and quiet neighborhood.

Any info is kindly appreciated.

I don't think Sharon Hill would be much of an improvement upon Upper Darby, and it actually has fewer amenities.

Go a bit further up Chester Pike and look at a place like Norwood, Glenolden, maybe Prospect Park. You might also look at Ridley or Morton.

If you could afford to stay out of Sharon Hill, I would highly suggest doing so. The school district is truly in shambles. This isn't really an argument of "oh wait this town is more aesthetically pleasing and more conveniently located than that town". This is more an issue of safety and your child's education.

What area of Upper Darby do you live?

In comparison to the "Chester Pike Communities"...from a crime and quality of life standpoint, Sharon Hill is not as bad as Darby, but not as nice as the Glenolden/Norwood area a few miles further down the Pike (and the school district is much better)...
