Oh, no, about the Eagles. He'll make excuse after excuse for them, but'll bash the Phillies in an instant (even though they're the ones who broke our championship drought).
I hated that "never had a bad day in my life". I don't consider that laid-back or cool, I think he was a pompous a**. He always acted like he had an attitude with the caller, even before they said anything.

Years back, he was definitely not pro-Eagles. He was all over Randall Cunningham, and even when they were doing well with McNabb, I remember him criticizing them. I used to get mad because I'm such an Eagles fan -- didn't want anyone to say a negative word.

I used to like listening to Angelo early in the morning on my way to work, especially after a loss when you needed to know that other people felt your pain. I'll never forget the morning after the Dallas Monday night game where we lost because of a missed short-yardage FG at the end of the game. I was so despondent. Angelo asks the first caller how he's doing this morning, and the guy says "Oh Ang, suicide watch". That was so hilarious to me. I felt SOOO much better, knowing I was not the only one!

Are you talking about the game when the eagles fumbled the snap and missed out on a opportunity to kick a short FG at dallas in 1997?

And I think he only had a attitude with callers who

1. Stuttered on the air

2. Didn't know what they were talking about

If you called with a nice clear speakig voice and showed that you knew a lot about the game, then it was a great conversation. I called him all the time and he was not rude to me once in all the years he had that 3pm slot.

Yep, that's the game! I was at a friend's house and we were all ready to do the victory high-5....and then.....disaster! Good memory!

I was living in Connecticut at the time but I wish I could go back in time so I could have experienced these things on Monday, September 16, 1997

Philly Sports Radio

Front Page of the Daily News

I know both were memorable after that game

It shouldn't be high on the list since it was only a week 3 game

Were you watching it? I don't care if it was week three, it was against the Cowboys and it hurt like hell.

Not especially ... But the game (at Dallas in 1997) we're talking about - did you watch it?
