I remember the name was VanZant, so I did a little research. The article has a different story of his arrest then what I remember. It happened right around the corner from where I lived and remember coming home and seeing cop cars all over the place. The paper boy came collecting, and I asked what was going on and he told me there was a murder.

This double murder made the headlines for weeks in 1975:
FindACase™ | COMMONWEALTH PENNSYLVANIA v. CHARLES STICKLE (03/14/79)

Two 14 year old girls from W. Conshohocken raped, doused with gasoline and set on fire in the back of a truck trailer in Manayunk. One crawled out still on fire and survived just long enough to name the killers. It still gives me the chills thinking that people like this exist.
