Two 14 year old girls from W. Conshohocken raped, doused with gasoline and set on fire in the back of a truck trailer in Manayunk. One crawled out still on fire and survived just long enough to name the killers. It still gives me the chills thinking that people like this exist.
This one still resonates with me every day. Beverly, was my aunt, I was 9 years old at the time of this incident. Both girls were 16. Had it not been for my Aunt Bev, these men would have never been apprehended. I think of her every day. I miss her.

What a morbid but still interesting thread. I hung out at the NJ shore with a guy named Mccracken who said he was wanted ofr murder. I did not believe him at the time as we drank a case under the boardwalk, but 2 years later in 1990 he was on the front cover of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

It was actually in Delaware county and may have been a biker related incident. He was in the same Hotel I was in and well he and his crew took a liking to me. I know people in Wildwood so going down there alone especially at this time in 1988 was not out of the ordinary for me.

I don 't remember all the details. In the 1980's there was someone who was killing women from the bars in the Frankford area. I don 't even know if they ever caught the killer.

The "Frankford Slasher." His name was Leanord Christopher and he's spending life behind bars.

He was convicted for the murder of one woman. It seems that quite a few people consider the Frankford Slasher case unsolved.

It was more than a year that her body was decomposing in the closet. I lived in the house on the corner and had a friend who lived in the very apartment building where the girfriend was found. Needless to say it was bad. The funny part was that no stigma ever seemed to attach to the building or neighborhood.

A detective claimed the main killer was a middle-aged white guy who he had interviewed, but couldn't prove it ... I worked and drank with a guy who frequented FKD at the time and I always thought he was capable of being the killer.
Shortly after Christopher was incarcerated, another woman was murdered, but there were no more after that.

This girl was in my home room freshman year of high school. She went missing the next year and was found beaten, raped, dismembered, and set on fire in a trash can.
