I've had very mixed experiences at Roller's, in terms of both food and service.

After a week, here is what I have found:

Earth Bread + Brewery is my local with McMenamin's a close 1b. Night Kitchen Bakery is a damn nice find. Brewers Outlet charges too much for cases, but it is the best I have.

I still need to find another local pizza place. And a hoagie place, although there is a Primo's in Chestnut Hill.

Chef Ken's Cafe, anyone?

Toto's Pizza at Greene and Hortter isn't bad for pizza.

I recently had Rose Petal Cafe (across from Chelten R8 station) breakfast and it was delicious.

The best pizza and sub shop that I found in that area, was actually in Wyndmoor - Tony's Pizza City.

I'll second toto's, mentioned above, right up against Upsal station. Tiny on the inside though - delivery is a better option.

I snagged a couple slices from Toto's recently. Good stuff even if the place is an organizational disaster.

I am tempted to try Fino's, not far from the Germantown train station.

Most of my recommendations have been listed. Another place to try is Thai Kuu in Chestnut Hill (Thai/Asian cuisine) and Trolly Car Diner for informal brunch.

Someone mentioned Chef Ken's. I've found the service and food to be consistently good although I've heard mixed reviews. Try to order ahead because it takes a while for each platter as they try to aim for freshly prepared platters. Another mentioned gem was Heirloom. I highly recommend this place.

Heirloom, too, is on my list of places to try.

I need to get to Trolly Car, too.

I love Mt. Airy, Chestnut Hill ,but when it comes to Pizza. I go to Alex`s Pizzeria in Manayunk. Great thin crust.

I also like the Pizza Box when I`m in the mood for gourmet pizza.
