Not really because when the opposing team still manages to score enough to win then it's not a good night for the defense. My definition of good defense is when there are FORCED turnovers along with limiting the other teams to mainly FG's

What if the final score was 10-9?

Then that would mean that both teams had good defenses and weak offenses.

Maybe they simply both had a bad offense ...

Both offenses look kind of crappy but when you compare Vick and Alex Smith, most call Alex Smith a bus driver but I rather have a QB that since he is not going to lose the game with mistakes. Now someone like Eli Manning just throws the ball up for grabs and hopes someone catches it. Vick on the otherhand has always been turnover prone and that's why he earned the name "michael Pick" So I would take Alex Smith any sunday over Vick or Eli since he rarely makes mistakes with the ball.

Yes indeed. I have been a season ticket holder for about 30 years and can say yesterday had to be the best football game I ever attended. Was just thankful my residence was only a 5 minute subway ride and did not have to drive.
