I know that there's are quite a few people who pass through Upper Darby on this forum. I live in the area and I notice that when I walk my dog, I see these giant (5 feet?) wild turkeys (2 at the most) strolling around and people walking and driving around like they can't see them.

They always tend to be in a 2 block radius...between Garrett Rd and W Marshall Rd and on Owen Ave, Lansdowne Ave, or Lincoln Ave. That leads me to believe that someone in the area maybe has them as pets....or a backyard farm. I mean, this area is an urban area...what on earth would wild turkeys be doing here? I don't even see geese here and they're everywhere..

I called the DelCo SPCA about them the first time I saw them across the street from my house and they gave the impression like they know about them but they never retrieved them.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who has seen them.

I recently saw a story on the local news about wild turkeys but they were in the boonies like Bucks County or something like that.

There is a pack of wild turkey's in my neighborhood as well, near Haddonfield. Like the UD turkey's, they tend to stay within a few block radius. I was driving through Blue Bell once and saw a bunch of turkey's out on a stroll there as well. My grandmother has a group that live behind her house, in Cape May.

Last autumn, one of my friends saw a wild turkey on his street in East Lansdowne. Meanwhile, I never spotted a one growing up in Lower Merion, though deer, groundhogs, and foxes were a-plenty.

I've seen a turkey down the Street from UD High School a few months back while riding by. I think it was in the parking lot of the bank. I thought that was weird.

I was wondering, is there a community of feral turkeys in the neighborhood, a backyard farm, or is this same turkey living off of Lansdowne and Upper Darby grass

Sucker's nowhere to be found the third week of November. He does, however, just love Black Friday!
